Direct Care Staff

Job opportunities are often available for caring people who want to make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. All employees must pass a Criminal Background Check.

New employees are provided with 1-2 weeks of orientation and supervision from supervisors and experienced staff members. Duties as a Direct Care Staff include:
  • assisting clients with activities of daily living [ADL's],
  • going on outings into the community,
  • lunch prep and supervision/feeding,
  • planning and supervising in-center activities.
Recreational opportunities are very important to our participants and we try to provide community activities as often as possible. Examples of outings include:
  • shopping,
  • lunch/walks at the mall,
  • bowling,
  • going to parks,
  • the Oregon zoo,
  • OMSI and many more.
PASS is unique in that our client to staff ratio is much lower than most other agencies. Our ratio averages 3:1, while the industry norm is 8:1. We feel it is important to have a lower ratio so that participants can get the time and personal attention they deserve.

We provide full time and part time shifts for our Day Program, Community Activity Program (PASS-2), and Saturday respite. We provide full time and part time shifts. We also operate our Saturday in-center Respite program from 11am-5pm. It is similar to the Day Program, but is a less program. That program may have shifts available depending on staffing levels.
